New year, new blog, new sponsor- new beginning!
Howsit!
So I've been having a hectic few weeks over the last month, doing base period, while travelling around is definitely not one of the easiest things to manage. The week before Christmas I flew up to KZN, to get a few things sorted, got to meet new people, had a good time with my new team as well as doing some super fun singletrack riding up at Karkloof and Cedara...
I got my new bike, Ellsworth Truth, set up and race ready for the 2012 season, got our new kit which looks awesome and nearly died while doing some fitness tests under the supervision of my coach, Johann Wykerd. It's always lots of fun going to kzn as the training places around there is just superb! and the new bike is just awesome, I've never been on a dual suspension before, and always thought by myself it's an old man's bike, but really after a few hours on the road you actually realise the big difference it makes. Think it will be interesting seeing how many people has fallen for the 29er revolution, and who will still be riding the good old 26er!
Will post a pic of the Truth soon!
After staying a few days with team mate, Kyle Dorkin at Johann's place, I realised again how blessed we really are doing this fantastic sport, giving us so many opportunities. Cycling isn't a sport, it's a way of living.
In about 5 weeks it's time to show whose up there and whose not, I'm happy with my base period, and looking forward to the coming weeks, it's a new year, lets see what its holds in for us. Looking forward to spending more time with my team mates Kyle and Eszter on the roads, and I'm positive we'll be having a good season lying ahead!
Keep the rubber burning.
Cheers
